Ozzano Selection is proud to announce a new partnership with Di Giovanna, a winery between Sambuca di Sicilia and Contessa Entellina in the province of Agrigento.
The winery boasts 5 generations of wine producers and today is renowned even more for its organic production. The wine estate covers almost 100 hectares and is made up of 65 hectares of vineyards, 14 of olive groves and 21 of wheat fields and forests.
The five estates of the family (Miccina, Gerbino, Paradiso, San Giacomo and Fiuminello) are located in the small DOC of Contessa Entellina and Sambuca di Sicilia, in the heart of the Terre Sicane. The Miccina, Gerbino and Paradiso vineyards are located at an altitude between 350 and 480 meters above sea level, in the Contessa Entellina area. The San Giacomo and Fiuminello vineyards (680-830 m.s.l.m.) climb the slopes of Monte Genuardo and surround the winery.
Thanks to a careful study of the soil and climate of the area, Di Giovanna has decided to plant varieties that are not only native but also international. Therefore, for the white varieties, Chardonnay, Catarratto, Grillo and Viognier and the red ones, Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Merlot and Syrah will be found.The entire selection of Di Giovanna wines boasts numerous awards and very high scores at national and international level and for this reason it could not fail to be included in the list of Ozzano Selection's proposals.
