DUCHI DI CASTELLUCCIO: ORGANIC AND VEGAN WINE

Ozzano Selection is proud to present a new winery in the company's portfolio: Duchi di Castelluccio!

This winery was particularly desired because, despite being of relatively recent origin, it was able to become avant-garde within a few decades thanks to its transformation into an organic winery in 1990 and vegan in 2015.

Based in Abruzzo in central Italy at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, Duchi di Castelluccio has a production that ranges from whites with the famous Passerina and Pecorino, to reds with the famous Montepulciano and rosé wines always made from 100% Montepulciano grapes.

The winery has made the concept of naturalness its mission and its flag. For this reason it has entered by right among the proposals of Ozzano Selection. Respect for the land, the environment and the surrounding nature cannot be lacking when choosing a wine.

For their ideal position between the sea and the Apennine arch, for the particular microclimate and for the composition of the soil, they safely express their natural vocation to the cultivation of the vine which, combined with the passion of man, produces grapes of absolute quality.

Starting from organic white wines, we want to mention Pecorino d'Abruzzo IGT Colline Pescaresi "Duchi di Castelluccio", produced with Pecorino d'Abruzzo IGT Terre di Chieti grapes. With an altitude of 280 meters, a clayey soil and a South-South East exposure, the wine takes on an intense yellow color with golden reflections, the scent is fine and fruity with citrus hints of pink grapefruit and exotic papaya. With an exceptional aromatic correspondence, the taste is enveloping and persistent, with a very pleasant finish of white fruit. It is ideal in aperitifs and dishes based on fish or cheese.

Among the red wines we remember the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, produced with 100% organic Montepulciano grapes, also at an altitude of 280 meters and a sunny exposure.

The vinification takes place 6 months in steel with spontaneous fermentation. Among the red wines we remember the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, produced with 100% organic Montepulciano grapes, also at an altitude of 280 meters and a sunny exposure.

The vinification takes place 6 months in steel with spontaneous fermentation. The color is a beautiful ruby red with purple streaks, the scent is reminiscent of black fruits, licorice and chocolate and the taste has an excellent structure with soft, sweet and long-lasting tannins.
